On May 8, from the rostrum of the parliament, Nikol Pashinyan, leader of the protest movement, who was elected to the post of prime minister of Armenia, stated in his program speech.
According to him, the development of relations with Russia corresponds to the national interests of Armenia, and the new authorities will solve the emerging problems through negotiations. "Our relations with Russia should be based on the foundations of friendship, equality of willingness to resolve issues," Pashinyan said, adding that military cooperation with Russia is a guarantee of Armenia's security. In addition, he confirmed that Armenia will remain a member of the EAEA and CSTO. At the same time, the new government of the country will actively build allied relations with the European Union, the United States, Iran, Georgia and China.
