ArmInfo. The party "Civil Contract" did not discuss the composition of the future government. A member of the Council of Elders of Yerevan from the "Elk" bloc and "Civil Contract" party Araik Harutyunyan told journalists on May 4.
As Nikol Pashinyan's colleague said, the elections of the Prime Minister of Armenia will be held on May 8 and Pashinyan is likely to be elected head of the government. Araik Harutyunyan claims that on May 1, many RPA deputies favored the candidacy of Nikol Pashinyan as prime minister. But, according to a member of the CC, it seems that they were given a lot of pressure. Nevertheless, regardless of what the voting results will be, as Araik Harutyunyan noted, Pashinyan's supporters are ready for all sorts of scenarios. Today, the member of the CC authoritatively states that Nikol Pashinyan and the provisional government headed by him will become the guarantor of holding free and fair early parliamentary elections. Harutyunyan refrained from commenting on what the future composition of the Cabinet would be, noting that there were no such discussions inside the Civil Contract party due to the rapidly developing events in the recent period. Nevertheless, according to Harutyunyan, the GP has sufficient staff potential, and specialists from the Diaspora offered their help on some issues. At the same time, he noted, other professionals can also be included in the future Cabinet because the government "will not be formed individually."
The deputy chairman of the Republican Party, MP Armen Ashotyan said in an interview today that if the Pashinyan is elected prime minister, the RPA will become an opposition. He also stressed that the representatives of the party will not work in Pashinyan's Cabinet.
