ArmInfo. The leader of the protest movement, Nikol Pashinyan, who claims to be the Prime Minister of Armenia, has already collected more than 35 deputy signatures that give him the right to nominate him at the upcoming extraordinary meeting of the National Assembly on May 8. This was stated by Ararat Mirzoyan, MP of the National Assembly of Armenia from the Yelk bloc.
According to him, the MPs of the "Tsaorukyan" bloc, the "Yelk" bloc and the ARF Dashnaktsutyun party subscribed for the nominations of Pashinyan. According to Mirzoyan, the official nomination of Nikol Pashinyan will be held today.
The elections of the Prime Minister of Armenia will be held in the parliament on May 8 at 12:00. On May 1, at a special meeting of the National Assembly of Armenia, the RPA did not approve the candidacy of Nikol Pashinian as prime minister. After the failed meeting, Pashinyan said that after rejecting the popular candidate for the premieres, the RPA buried itself completely, and called on its supporters to resume civil acts of obedience throughout the country. As a result, on the eve of the evening the RPA stated that on May 8, in a second ballot, it will support the candidacy for the post of prime minister nominated by 1/3 of the deputies. As the head of the RPA fraction Vahram Baghdasaryan assured, on May 8 the RPA will not nominate a candidate, Armenia will have a constitutional prime minister, and the party will hold the candidate represented by 1/3 of the deputies - the number necessary to nominate a candidate for the premieres in the second round
At the moment, some observers have expressed fears that the deputies will not gather a quorum, the Republicans simply will not attend the meeting. However, if the prime minister is not elected again, the parliament will be dissolved and early elections will be appointed, which will try to organize and hold the RPA in its favor.
