ArmInfo. In Armenia the page of hatred and enmity is closed and will never open again. The leader of the "Make a step" movement, opposition MP Nikol Pashinyan said at a press conference in Yerevan on April 27, touching on possible persecutions against representatives of the current government after its resignation.
"I do not think that you came across cases when I subjected anyone to terror. If I wanted to expose someone to terror, I would have done it on April 23, when Serzh Sargsyan resigned and, first of all, probably, it is in his respect, but as you can see, Sargsyan still continues to be in Armenia. If we wanted someone to terrorize, then believe me, nothing prevented us from doing this until today. In Armenia the page of hatred and enmity is closed and it will never open again, " he said.
Answering whether to expect personnel pogroms after his coming to power, Pashinyan stressed that he does not intend to take this step.
Meanwhile, to the remark, and where the guarantees that there will still be personnel pogroms and possible vendetta will not be, the deputy said: "What prevented us from doing this so far?" We did not take this step for one simple reason - it contradicts our ideology ", he said.
The oppositionist added that there are many professionals in the government who are doing their job well. "For example, figuratively speaking, there are good builders - they will build what they say, they will say to build a prison - they will build a prison, they will say to build a paradise - they will build a paradise," the deputy said.
Touching upon the issue of political prisoners, Pashinyan stressed that all political prisoners should be released, and who should be included in them should identify the relevant professional organizations.
At the same time he urged not to draw parallels between the events in Armenia and other countries. He also stressed that it is also ridiculous to say that the opposition movement is financed from the outside, since all of its revenues and expenses are publicly presented to the public. "This is a purely internal Armenian process, in our case there are no financial investments from foreign organizations, all funds are directed to us from our compatriots from different countries," he added. He expressed gratitude to the Armenians from Russia for their active support.
Speaking about his further actions, Pashinyan said that all the shares stop for two days, so that people can rest, and on April 29 the protest actions will start with a new force. He also expressed his belief that the network of protest actions became the key to the success of his movement.
