ArmInfo. Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian took part in the meeting of the Council of CIS Foreign Ministers in Minsk.
As the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo, the meeting started in a narrow format, then continued in an expanded format. Foreign ministers of the seven countries of the Commonwealth attended the meeting. The agenda of the meeting included such issues as improving the effectiveness of the Organization's activities, developing cooperation in such areas as politics, security, culture, education. On the agenda were submitted 12 documents, which were approved by the ministers. The ministers exchanged views on topical issues on the international agenda, touched upon the issue of holding consultations between the foreign ministries of the CIS countries.
The ministers approved the draft agreements on cooperation of the CIS countries in the fight against crimes in the field of information technologies, the interstate program of joint measures to combat crime for 2019- 2023, the provisions on the Congress of teachers and educators of the Commonwealth countries, as well as the international youth project of the CIS states "100 ideas for the CIS."
It was decided to hold the next meeting of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council in September this year. After the meeting, the CIS Foreign Ministers were received by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
The Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS (CFM) was established by the decision of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of September 24, 1993 to coordinate foreign policy activities.
