ArmInfo. In the Yerevan Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi started the FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduates Examination) preparatory courses to prepare students who graduated from foreign medical schools to take examinations in India.
Indian Ambassador to Armenia Yogeshwar Sangwan stressed that this training course opens new opportunities for Indian students receiving education in Armenia. Moreover, in his opinion, this event will help increase the number of Indian students studying in Armenia. "Today, this important program has been launched, and we, the Embassy, are always ready to support you, students, on any issue." In this regard, I would like to urge you to register on the website of our Embassy, "the Indian diplomat said. He added that on March 28 the Embassy will organize an essay contest, which YSMU students will be able to participate in.
The YSMU rector Armen Muradyan noted that the implementation of the FMGE project in Armenia was an expected event. He reminded that the President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, during his visit to India in the second decade of last year, instructed to organize the training of Indian students in such a way that they subsequently had no problems in passing examinations in their own country. "As soon as we were able to fulfill this instruction of the President, we are already implementing FMGE courses in our university." As you know, today the Government of Armenia approved the acquisition of the Miqaelyan Institute of Surgery CJSC by the YSMU Fund after Mkhitar Heratsi for our students. In our clinics in the last year were recorded quite encouraging indicators. Thus, in the clinics of Heratsi, the death rate decreased by 30%," Muradyan said.
At the same time, he stressed that YSMU provides education that meets all international standards. He stated that 88.5% of Indian students who graduated from YSMU passed a very complicated FMGE exam and obtained a license to operate in India. He noted that the implementation of the courses will increase these indicators. "More than 1800 students from 30 countries of the world receive education at our university, 900 of them from India," the head of YSMU said. Muradyan also informed that the distinguished students, included in the first ten, will receive high scholarships.
