ArmInfo. The powers of the future president of Armenia, allocated to him by the Constitution, are wide enough. This opinion was expressed in the interview with journalists by the presidential candidate from the Republican Party, the RA Ambassador to Great Britain, Armen Sargsyan.
Answering the question about whether he, as an applicant for the presidential post, is not embarrassed by the fact that recently various laws have been passed restricting the powers of the future president, which are already limited by the new Constitution, Sargsyan said: "At present I am an ambassador and not I can influence the processes in Armenia, but I closely monitor them, but I do not think that the powers of the future president of Armenia are limited.
According to him, he looks more widely at the activities of the future president of Armenia. Sargsyan also said that the day is near, when he will report on his decision to participate in the presidential elections. It will become clear at the upcoming meeting of Armen Sargsyan with President Serzh Sargsyan.
To the question whether he intends to meet with the first and second Presidents of Armenia Levon Ter- Petrosyan and Robert Kocharyan, Sargsyan said that he considers such a possibility only if he is elected.
