ArmInfo. The special investigative service opened criminal cases against the police and the Investigative Committee officers of Armenia on charges of falsification and abuse of office.
As the SIS press office reports, one of the criminal cases was initiated based on materials obtained from the Internal Security Department of the RA Police. In particular, these documents state that the representatives of the Stepanavan Department of the Passport and Visa Department of the Armenian Police with the purpose of issuing a passport to a person absent from the country A.Kh. from 24 to 30 October, they wrote fake statements on his behalf for the purpose of his registration and certification in the city of Stepanavan. Then he was fictitiously registered in one of the apartments in Stepanavan, and on November 7, 2017, an unknown person was issued a passport in the name of Armenian citizen A.Kh. The special investigative service opened a criminal case on the fact of falsification by a group of officers of the passport and visa department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia in accordance with Article 314 of the RA Criminal Code. Another criminal case was initiated on the basis of the statement of R.A. He informed that on December 6, 2017 police officers abused their official powers. In particular, on the basis of the relevant court decision, he and his family were illegally evicted from their apartment in Yerevan. Another criminal case was initiated on the basis of the statement of H.M. He informed the SIS that during the preliminary investigation of the criminal case in the RA Investigative Committee, the investigator conducting the case, forced him to give false testimony, otherwise he threatened to attract H.M. to criminal liability. Thus, the SIS initiated criminal cases in the above two cases - part 1 of article 308 of the Criminal Code of Armenia.
