ArmInfo. The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) at the winter session in Strasbourg on January 22 selected the new chairman of the organization. It is a member of the Italian delegation Michele Nicoletti.

He will replace Stella Kyriakides, who headed the organization last October, after Pedro Agramunt, resigned after corruption scandal. It is noteworthy that Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan will deliver a speech at the PACE winter session. On January 22, the winter session of PACE started in Strasbourg, which will last until January 26. The agenda of the session includes issues related to the report of the Monitoring Committee on Bosnia and Herzegovina, Estonia, Greece, Hungary and Ireland, the protection of regional and minority languages, and others. Three appeals were also submitted for the winter session, two of which are related to the Palestine- process and role of the Council of Europe in this process, the third - with anti-Semitism, Islamophobia in Europe.
