ArmInfo.Deputy General Secretary of NATO Rose Gottemoeller on December 18 will visit Armenia, on December 13 at a press conference in Yerevan dedicated to NATO week in Armenia, stated deputy head of the office on relations with NATO in Southern Caucasus Rosaria Puglisi. According to her, this visit is a clear example of the existence of high-level cooperation between Armenia and NATO.
"NATO Deputy General Secretary will hold meetings with the Armenian President, Defense Minister and Foreign Minister during the visit. She also planned to perform at the Yerevan State University", said the representative of the Alliance.
Speaking in general about the starting week of NATO, Puglisi stressed that this week is important for the Alliance, as it provides an opportunity to present the full range of Armenia-Alliance cooperation. "I also want to thank Armenia for its active participation in peacekeeping missions in Afghanistan and Kosovo, given that Armenia is a small nation, sending 121 peacekeepers to Afghanistan and 35 to Kosovo is a big contribution," the NATO representative said. At the same time, she stressed that Armenia-NATO cooperation is not limited to military cooperation, but a number of other projects are being implemented, including the creation of the Trust Fund, which will be implemented with the financial assistance of Germany, and cooperation in military education. Puglisi also stressed that the Alliance is ready to assist in the implementation of the program of action, after its approval. "The main goal of the NATO week is to inform the public about our interaction, in this connection I would like to involve as many people as possible in the upcoming events," she concluded.
