ArmInfo.. Since June 1, Russia has entered into force a ban on the use of foreign driving licenses by persons working in the territory of the country in the field of transportation. At the same time, the ban does not apply to citizens of the EEA countries: Kyrgyzstan, Belarus and Kazakhstan, where Russian is the second official language.
According to the Haykakan Zhamanak newspaper, citizens who drive a taxi with an Armenian driver's license are already fined 10, and the business executives they work for are 50,000 rubles. The Armenian authorities do not take measures to protect the rights of their citizens. And Justice Minister David Harutyunyan, shrugging his shoulders, only told reporters that driving permits are considered a national document.
"The issue is governed by conventions, the country may allow the use of the driver's license of another country, or may not allow it.Our citizens can bypass this obstacle in Russia by obtaining an international driving license, however, in this case they will not be able to perform paid work,"- stated the Minister.
