Refusal to implement the OSCE MG directives as part of the implementation of mechanisms for investigating the tragic incidents on the contact line, Moscow and Washington will have to increase pressure on Baku. The Caucasus  department of the Institute of CIS countries, the director of the Center for Social and Political Studies Vladimir Evseev expressed such an opinion ArmInfo.

Only last week two servicemen of the NKR Defense Army died as a  result of two cases of violation by the Azerbaijani armed forces of  the ceasefire regime of 1994 and the grenade launcher fire of the  Karabakh positions.

"I think that the position of the co-chairing countries in relation  to Azerbaijan will be consistently toughened with the aim of forcing  its leadership to fulfill its obligations, primarily, the Vienna and  St.  Petersburg agreements of the Presidents of Armenia and  Azerbaijan and the Minsk mediators," he stressed.

According to the expert, an additional reason for increasing pressure  on Baku is his disregard for the messages of the Minsk Group  co-chairs, which is reflected in the failure to comply with the  directives adopted with his consent within the framework of the OSCE  Minsk Group.

Evseev explains the last surge of Azerbaijani aggressiveness by  Baku's desire to fix at least a small seizure of Artsakh territories.  He considers the last April April actions of Baku, presented to the  Azerbaijani society as a victory, justified by the only strengthening  of the Aliev-Pashaev regime. -
