ArmInfo. Despite all these complications, the positive of Armenian membership to EEU is obvious, thouch the economic situation is not that simple, Armenian Foreign Ministry head stated in his interview to Deutche Welle.
"The negative economic tendencies affect countries with small but open economies - such As Armenia, but, at the same time, those affect European countries also. Our joining the EEU gave us an option to enter a bigger market, comprising 180 mln, and that is a very big market for Armenia. Goods produced in Armenia with the zero custom fee and without any administrative obstacles, could be supplied to that huge consumers market mentioned. Next, we have four freedoms: capital turnover, investments, working capital and services. But yet we have to cancel several last obstacles in this respect. These are pretty serious issues that EEU deals with. During these two years a large positive experience has been accumulated from the point of the establishment of regulatory basis of Eurasian Economic Union. It is natural, that the population of EEU countries expects for more, and we would like to see positive changes as soon as possible. But the main thing here is the positive tendency, and we got it. For example, in 2016 the Armenian export increased for 50%> We loose nothing, we only obtain," the Minister stated. Commenting the existing opinion regarding the lack of trust in EEU, Nalbandyan mentioned that there are some problems and questions. "But those are everywhere, and we just have to solve them," Nalbandyan said. He stated also that there is a big interest to the structure. "As a Minister of Foreign Affairs, I received delegations from various countries- Asian, Latin American, and others. They have visited Armenia as one of the EEU member countries, they talked about their wish to create a free economic zone with EEU. And that is not one or two countries - the matter regards to dozens," Nalbandyan ensured. He stated also, that
Armenia has various trade and political relations. "Almost one third of our trade is with EU. Things are not like 99% of our trade is with Russia," he said. He mentioned in this context, that Armenia could ne an example is certain meaning. We do not want to use contradictions and problems existing between some countries. Such approach could generate a boomerang effect. We always use to back up our words with deeds, and what we do is always consistent to what we say."
