ArmInfo. Replying to the Armenian Police's request, the Interpol General Secretariat has reported today that blog writer Alexander Lapshin, who was extradited by Minsk to Baku for visiting Nagorno-Karabakh, has never been on the Interpol register. Neither has he been on the international wanted list, Narek Malyan, Advisor to Armenian Police Chief, says on his Facebook page.
To note, the extradition of Russian-Israeli blog writer Lapshin caused a negative public and political response in Armenia. The Foreign Ministry of Russia stressed the unacceptability of his extradition. Israel, in turn, said that it keeps a close watch on the situation. Ukraine (Lapshin is a citizen of this country as well) has made no statement so far.
