ArmInfo. The Consolidation Party hales Gagick Tsaroukyan, the former Leader of Propsperous Armenia, with his intentions to participate in parliamentary elections within the pre-electoral block, the Party's statement reads.
"It feels like two different poles will act at the oppositional field, and those could consolidate large electorate," the authors state.
The statement reads also, that during the meeting held between Vardan Oskanyan, the Consolidation party leader and former Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan the electoral cooperation issues were discussed. At that, the parties stated the necessity of participation in pre electoral block. 'The block comprising the Consolidation, Third Republic and Armenian Democratic Party will be expanded, of course. It will include both political powers and civil society representatives," party members stated.
The members of political block mentioned think also that the elections term assigned for April 2 contradicts to the Constitution of the country. " The problem is not the date of elections, but the fact that the most important p[olitical process will have no legal basis. Besides, On April 2016 the April War started, and this issue could be accepted with some moral gradient," the statement reads.
To remind, Viktor Dallakyan's Third Republic Party, Vartan Oskanian's Solidarity Party and Aram Sargsyan's Democratic Party have officially consolidated in a joint bloc headed by ex-defense minister of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan. The joint statement of these forces reads, "Realizing the challenges faced by Armenia and Artsakh and the fact that the large-scale corruption, monopolization of the economy, low efficiency of the state structures are the main reasons of the setback, large-scale migration and low social standards, and the need for sooner settlement of these problems, Third Republic, Solidarity and Democratic Party of Armenia state their intention to run in the parliamentary elections in 2017 as a single bloc." The parties say that they are ready to quit the narrow-party programs for the sake of common interests. They also state that they have specific programs and a schedule to take the country out of the current situation. The statement stresses that the parties realize the need for power of new quality in Armenia.
