ArmInfo. The key to the problem of repatriation of the body of the Azeri serviceman, who died when mounting the sabotage attack on the Armenian-Azeri state border on December 29, is in the both sides' hands, according to Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova.
During the briefing on January 12, when asked how Russia takes the fact that Armenia has not yet returned the body of the Azeri serviceman, who was killed in the course of the sabotage attack on December 29, Zakharova said, "This tragic incident occurred between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Both sides should find strength, wisdom and certainly diplomatic opportunities and they should use every opportunity to settle this rather complicated situation. The key to the problem settlement is in the both sides' hands".
To recall, on December 29 morning, the Azeri armed forces attempted a sabotage attack on the southeastern section of the Azeri-Armenian border near Chinari village of Tavush province of Armenia. The adversary used sniper rifles and grenade launchers. The Armenian troops got to grips with the adversary. Armenian Defense Ministry Spokesman Artsrun Hovhannisyan said that three Armenian servicemen were killed - Senior Lieutenant Shavarsh Melikyan and privates Edgar Narayan and Erik Abovyan. The adversary suffered 7 human losses, including one victim left on the Armenian side when retreating. Five more Azeri servicemen were killed in the course of the punitive measures taken by the Armenian armed forces on December 30.
