ArmInfo. By its sabotage attacks and provocations on the border with Armenia and on the line of contact with Karabakh, Azerbaijan demonstrates that it refuses to take any steps towards resumption of the peace process, military expert Tigran Abrahamyan has told ArmInfo, when commenting on the current situation on the Armenian-Azeri border following today's attempted sabotage attack mounted by Azerbaijan.
Abrahamyan says Azerbaijan's actions once again prove the fact that Baku is actively discussing the military option of the Karabakh conflict settlement. "As long as the peace process is uncertain, Azerbaijan may resort to sabotage attacks and provocations at any moment," Abrahamyan notes.
To note, on December 29 morning, the Azeri armed forces attempted a sabotage attack on the southeastern section of the Azeri-Armenian border near Chinari village of Tavush province of Armenia. The adversary used sniper rifles and grenade launchers. The Armenian troops got to grips with the adversary. Armenian Defense Ministry Spokesman Artsrun Hovhannisyan said that three Armenian servicemen were killed - Senior Lieutenant Shavarsh Melikyan and privates Edgar Narayan and Erik Abovyan. When retreating, the adversary left one victim on the Armenian side. There is no more detailed information about Azeri losses.
