ArmInfo.Armenian users of social networks reacted inadequately to assassination of Russian Ambassador in Turkey, Deputy Chairman of ruling Republican Party of Armenia Armen Ashotyan stated at the press conference on December 20.
He stated that he has followed the situation in social networks and was surprised with the first reaction of Armenian users in social networks, particularly their forecasts about possible new Russian-Turkish conflict and unconcealed joy related to that. ''Our history has demonstrated that Armenia has never benefited either from Russian-Turkish confrontation or their rapprochement'', Ashotyan noted.
To note, Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov was shot dead in the art gallery in Ankara on Monday. He died of 11 fatal bullet wounds. The Russian Foreign Ministry qualified this as a terror attack. According to the preliminary information, the killer was Mevlut Mert Altintas born in in 1994, according to data he had graduated from a police college in Izmir. Armenia's President Serzh Sargsyan has already sent a message of condolences to Russian President Vladimir Putin. He condemned the terror attack and expressed condolences to relatives and friends of the Russian diplomat, Russian Foreign Ministry and the whole Russian people.
