ArmInfo. The Democratic Party of Armenia will run in the parliamentary elections of 2017 as part of a bloc, Aram Saegsyan, the head of the party, has told ArmInfo.
He says the party is already negotiating with political forces to join a bloc and will shortly issue a statement. He specified that his party is going to join forces with well-known political forces.
Sargsyan notes that it is hard to forecast what political parties will obtain seats in the Parliament of 2017 because the public opinion polls point at the low ratings of political forces. He is not sure either that the currently ruling Republican Party of Armenia will be represented in the new Parliament.
To note, Aram Sargsyan has stepped down as the First Vice President of the World Armenian Congress out of the need to focus his efforts on the preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
To recall, according to the survey of Gallup International Association, as compared to May 2016, the rating of the Republican Party of Armenia has risen by 10.5%. In May only 9% of the citizens would vote for the RPA if the elections were held on coming Sunday, whereas now 19.5% of the respondents are ready to vote for the RPA. 18.4% of the respondents are ready to vote for Prosperous Armenia Party (versus the previous 8.3%); 3.4% - for ARFD, 3% - for Heritage, 2.4% - for Civil Contract, 1.4% - for the Armenian National Congress, and 1.2% - for Orinats Yerkir Party.
