ArmInfo. Armenia as guarantor of Artsakh's security together with Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) will do everything possible to achieve recognition of Azerbaijan as war criminal. Naira Zohrabyan, a member of the Armenian Delegation to PACE has made such statement addressing the Assembly.
The Armenian delegate said Azerbaijan grossly violated the International Law during the April war in Karabakh, violated the ceasefire dating back to 1994 and the humanitarian law, torturing, mutilating, and beheading prisoners or war and civilians, including helpless elderly people. The International Criminal Tribunal should consider all these facts, Zohrabyan said.
In this light, she urged the European parliamentarians to recognize Azerbaijan as war criminal. She urged her colleagues not to remain silent, amid demands for severe fight against terrorism and military crimes permanently voiced at PACE.
During the April war unleashed by Azerbaijan, the sides suffered hundreds of causalities, including among civilians. The photos and video footages published by Azerbaijan show that many Armenian prisoners of war were tortured and beheaded.
