ArmInfo. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has received today delegation of Fund for Armenian Relief (FAR) headed by Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern) and President of FAR Archbishop Khajag Barsamian.
The press-service of the Armenian President informs that the President welcomed the members of the delegation on their Homeland, highly assessing patriotic activities of FAR for many years starting from 1988 both in the disaster zone and in a lot of other communities of Armenia and Artsakh. Serzh Sargsyan expressed gratitude for the projects being implemented with great devotion and asked the participants of the meeting to convey his gratitude to all the representatives, partners and benefactors of the fund, due to help of whom the organization's projects have been implemented.
The President expressed special gratitude to FAR President Archbishop Khajag Barsamian and expressed assurance that his wisdom and managerial talent will serve to Armenian people for lots of years.
Serzh Sargsyan highly assessed FAR's assistance to Syrian Armenians for whom Armenia does everything possible to soften their problems and needs.
During the meeting the Armenian President granted state awards-first class medals of the Order of Merit for the Motherland to Edward and Janet Mardigians for significant contribution to strengthening of Homeland-Diaspora ties.
Serzh Sargsyan answered to the questions of the meeting participants related to prospects of Armenia's development, economic priorities, state policy on attracting investments and stimulating export, programs of assistance to Syrian Armenians and a number of other issues.
