ArmInfo.By the end of this year, a unified ticket system for travel on public transport will be introduced in Yerevan, Mayor Tigran Avinyan stated at a working meeting on May 6.
According to him, the problem of transport will be conceptually solved, for which in 2024 it is planned to supply 171 buses 8.5 meters long and 16 trolleybuses. It is also planned to modernize bus stops, where the schedule of a particular vehicle will be recorded on the board. Only after the mayor noted that all new vehicles enter city routes will the new ticket system begin to operate.
In turn, the vice-mayor of the capital Suren Grigoryan said that the implementation of a unified ticket system in the capital of Armenia is carried out in accordance with the previously established schedule. An agreement has been concluded with the contractor company, the final deadline for which is May 14. The bulk of the work has already been completed, while others will be completed by the deadline. At the same time, work is underway to modernize bus and trolleybus stops. There is already a layout of the stop, where it is planned to install payment terminals. The draft of new stops will be provided by the end of this week. It is planned that by the end of this year, 50 stops will be modernized.
In parallel, work is underway to import 171 8.5-meter buses and 15 trolleybuses. Grigoryan noted that tenders for their supply have been held, and in the near future, after some clarifications, contracts with the supplier will be concluded, after which deliveries should begin within 180 days. Of the trolleybuses, we are currently talking about 7 trolleybuses, after which the issue of supplying the remaining 8 units of equipment will be resolved within six months.
