ArmInfo. The "Mother Armenia" bloc is holding an protest action on April 29 in support of residents of villages in the Tavush region of the republic.
As leader of the bloc Andranik Tevanyan noted, the bloc fully supports the just indignation of the Tavush residents, their opposition to the so-called process of delimitation and demarcation of the borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan. "I would like to remind you that what is happening these days in Tavush concerns not only local residents, but also the whole of Armenia. If we make unilateral concessions, this means that we are not talking about a delimitation process, but about surrendering part of the territory of Armenia without receiving anything in return, which will lead to serious problems with the security of the state. We are against such a policy, and we call on people to stand up, be it in Yerevan, in Gyumri, in other settlements, to express their opinion regarding the ongoing processes," Tevanyan said.
He added that the bloc is near the Polytechnic University, where he intends to appeal to students to join the protests. Today, similar protests will be held in other universities in the country. On April 19, the Armenian Foreign Ministry, following the results of the eighth meeting of state commissions, announced that Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to begin delimitation from the Tavush region and, by July 1, complete the approval of the draft regulations on the joint activities of delimitation commissions. Since the evening of the same day, residents of the border villages of Tavush, dissatisfied with the agreements between Yerevan and Baku, have been holding protests.
