ArmInfo. The current authorities of Armenia are well aware of their responsibility to the country. This was stated on February 3 in the course of parliamentary hearings organized by the opposition, MP from the ruling "Civil Contract" faction Gurgen Arsenyan.
According to him, the threats from the opposition against the authorities are incomprehensible. <Who are you to issue ultimatums? The people have already issued a verdict against you. We are a civilized government, which is well demonstrated in the elections. As for the Lachin corridor, you have nothing to say about this, because you have no proposals>, - said the MP from the government. He assured that constant speculation on the Karabakh issue would not allow the opposition to come to power. "Forget it, you will come to power only if the Armenian people give you an appropriate mandate, this is the only possibility, all other scenarios are excluded," Arsenyan said.
As for the steps being taken, as the MP noted, the current government is responsible to the people, implementing the declared policy. He noted that the opposition declares the fate of 120,000 residents of Artsakh, but forgot about the fate of 3 million citizens of Armenia. "The authorities in Armenia are responsible to both of them. It provides for the interests of Armenia, the MP said, adding that the settlement of the Armenian-Turkish relations also meets the interests of Armenia. "Xenophobia is dangerous for our country. Pseudo-patriotism is the most dangerous manifestation, but we will continue to implement our policies, which you will not be able to influence. A failed government will never return to the rails it left. What you are doing now is not in the interests of the country. The same actions that you are guided by will lead to a new war>, - said the MP from the party in power.
It should be noted that Arsenyan's speech was accompanied by constant dissatisfied cries from the audience. Seyran Ohanyan, head of the parliamentary faction "Armenia", who chaired the hearings, could hardly restrain the emotions of the audience, which was mainly represented by opposition figures.
