ArmInfo.Lawyer Erik Aleksanyan was detained in Yerevan.

Thus, in the message of the press service of the RA Chamber of  Advocates, it is noted that they were informed about Aleksanyan's  detention.  "The Chamber of Advocates was informed about the  detention of lawyer Erik Aleksanyan, in connection with which the  chairman of the Chamber visited the lawyer. During the visit, issues  related to the organization of Aleksanyan's defense were discussed.  The latter said that it would be carried out through lawyers of his  choice. Given that the accusation is related to the professional  activities of Erik Aleksanyan, the trial of the criminal case will be  in the center of attention of the Chamber of Advocates," the press  service of the Chamber of Advocates reported.

Earlier it became known that the National Security Service of Armenia  detained lawyer Erik Aleksanyan.  He has been charged.  The Armenian  media, referring to the press service of the RA General Prosecutor's  Office, also reported that on October 17, the Prosecutor General of  Armenia, on the basis of Part 1 of Article 161 of the Constitutional  Law "Judicial Code of the Republic of Armenia", sent a petition to  the Supreme Judicial Council for consent to initiate criminal  prosecution against judge of the Court of General Jurisdiction of  First Instance of Yerevan Arusyak Aleksanyan. "The content of the  petition and the judge's personal data are not subject to disclosure  due to the need to maintain the secrecy of the investigation,  maintain the reputation of the judiciary and the judge," the press  service of the department said.  According to media reports, both the  lawyer and the judge are accused of taking bribes in the thief-in-law  case.
