ArmInfo. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov plans to take part in the 28th meeting of the OSCE Council of Foreign Ministers, which will be held on December 2-3 in Stockholm. This was announced on November 25 at a weekly briefing by official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
At the same time, she noted that Lavrov on the sidelines of the OSCE Ministerial Council plans to hold a number of bilateral meetings, in particular, meetings with the Foreign Ministers of Spain, Serbia, Austria, the OSCE Secretary General, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy have been confirmed.
"The results and prospects of the organization's activities in the politico-military, economic, environmental and humanitarian dimensions of security, as well as the problems of resolving conflicts in the OSCE area, including in the east of Ukraine, in Transnistria, in Nagorno-Karabakh, co-chairmanship in the Geneva Discussions on stability in the Transcaucasus will be discussed. One of the topics on the agenda will be the development of the situation in Afghanistan, which since 2003 has had the status of the OSCE Asian Partner for Co-operation, "she said. At the same time, Zakharova expressed the hope that the discussion would contribute to the restoration of an environment of trust, would help to enhance the OSCE's profile in the fight against transnational threats, and would help develop a consensus approach on topical issues.
