ArmInfo. The Kremlin closely followed the information coming from Armenia about the elections, where Nikol Pashinyan's party wins a convincing victory.
"We are very closely following the information that comes from Yerevan. We welcome the information of the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia on this election. And, of course, we see that Pashinyan's party won a convincing victory," press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said to journalists.
The president's press secretary congratulated the people of Armenia on their choice. "Armenia is our closest ally, partner and, of course, we wish that this choice of the Armenian people would help to cope with the difficulties that the country is now experiencing and to enter a sustainable development trajectory, including through the implementation of the trilateral agreements that have been reached, which were achieved and signed with the direct participation of the President of Russia," said Peskov, quoted by Interfax. It should be noted that according to the preliminary data released by the RA CEC, Nikol Pashinyan's "Civil Contract" party (53.9%) won the early parliamentary elections, followed by Robert Kocharian's "Armenia" bloc (21%). The "I have the honor!" bloc is also going to parliament (5.2%). It is these forces that will enter the country's parliament.
The Prosperous Armenia Party took the 4th place, which received 3.9% of the votes. The rest of the political forces together collected only 15.7%. The "Civil Contract" party led by Nikol Pashinyan won in all regions of Armenia, including Syunik and Yerevan.
