ArmInfo.At the initiative of EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar, he had a telephone conversation with Azerbaijani  Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.

As Turan reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry  of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, during the  conversation Bayramov informed Klaar about six Armenian prisoners of  war.

In particular, Bayramov cynically stated that the Armenian servicemen  were captured while mining the territory of Azerbaijan, meanwhile, it  is not a secret for anyone that the Armenian servicemen were taken  prisoner in the sovereign territory of Armenia by the invading  Azerbaijani armed forces.

As for the tension on the border of the two countries, Bayramov noted  that the existing differences should be resolved through  negotiations. Azerbaijan agreed to establish a trilateral commission  on border delimitation and demarcation.  During the conversation,  they also discussed the situation in the region, the implementation  of trilateral statements and tensions at the border, the report said.  

To note, on May 12 and May 13, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces illegally  entered the territory of the Republic of Armenia in the direction of  Syunik and Gegharkunik, advanced 3.5 km and 2 km inland,  respectively, deployed their units and refuse to leave the territory.   In connection with the current situation, Armenia turned to the CSTO  to assist in finding a solution to this issue. The issue still  remains unresolved.  According to some estimates, more than 600  Azerbaijani military forces were stationed in the sovereign  territories of the Republic of Armenia. On May 23, the RA Ministry of  Defense reported that the Azerbaijani side withdrew a part of its  military from the territory of Armenia. On May 25, as a result of the  shooting of the open armed forces of Azerbaijan on the territory of  Armenia, an Armenian contract soldier was killed.  

On the morning of May 27, at the border section of the Gegharkunik  region of the Republic of Armenia, while carrying out engineering  work on the territory of the N military unit of the Armed Forces of  Armenia, six servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Republic of  Azerbaijan were surrounded and taken prisoner by the servicemen of  the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.  

After that, acting Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, as a way  out of the current situation, suggested sending observers from  Russia, the United States or France (the co-chairing countries of the  OSCE Minsk Group) to the border between the countries.
