Humanitarian aid with construction materials for the restoration of houses and social facilities in Nagorno-Karabakh, delivered by the second convoy of the Russian Emergencies Ministry on November 24, will be sent to the cities of Shushi and Stepanakert. TASS was informed about this in the press service of the department.
"As humanitarian aid, 300 tons of cargo were delivered by 30 heavy trucks. The cargo is divided into two parts: one part is sent to the city of Shushi, the other to Stepanakert," the press service said. On November 21, the first convoy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in five vehicles delivered 45 tons of building materials to Stepanakert. In total, 35 pieces of equipment and about 40 personnel were involved. Earlier on Tuesday, the second convoy with humanitarian aid arrived in Stepanakert. According to Sergei Golovach, deputy chief of the Donskoy Rescue Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, the cars have traveled 1,700 kilometers. The difficulty was in the duration of the crossing, passes, ascents and descents. There were three nights on the way. Inspection at the border took place as usual, it took about six hours, he said.
On November 13, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the establishment of an interdepartmental humanitarian response center for Nagorno-Karabakh. It included representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Federal Security Service, representatives of other interested federal executive bodies. The decision of organizational issues is entrusted to the Ministry of Defense.
