ArmInfo. Armenia expects from Ukraine a neutral reaction in connection with the events in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan stated this in an interview with the Ukrainian news agency "24 Ukraine".
At the same time, he stated that Armenia realizes the sensitivity of such topics in Ukraine and for the citizens of Ukraine, while emphasizing the irrelevance of any parallels with what is happening in Karabakh. "I will cite only one fact: the only self-determined state in the post-Soviet space is Nagorno-Karabakh. It determined itself during the existence of the Soviet Union on the same grounds as Armenia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan," the Armenian diplomat said.
Clarifying what type of weapon was used to hit Stepanakert, Kocharyan noted that the question is not which weapon was fired from, but the question is that they were shooting, and not only at Stepanakert, in all settlements, including populated areas of Armenia. "These are facts. Of course, there are casualties as a result of this aggression from two sides. Of course, Azerbaijan suffers disproportionately large losses. But in all cases, of course, this aggression is not justified. Moreover, Turkey is directly involved behind Azerbaijan's back and they push terrorist organizations to the front, "he said.
At the same time, the deputy minister added that there are numerous proofs of the Turkish presence, take at least the fact that the F16 plane, from which the Armenian side is sure that the Armenian plane was shot down. According to him, the fighter right now and not one is based in Azerbaijan, and Turkish drones, strike UAVs, which are controlled by the Turkish side, are taking part in these hostilities.
When asked to talk about the role of other countries, in particular Israel, Kocharyan recalled that the Armenian ambassador to this country was summoned for consultations. "This is due to the fact that we understand that, when they sell weapons to today's aggressor this is business,, but when these weapons arrive during hostilities, this is unacceptable. This applies to any state, not only Israel, which in the midst of military operations supplies our rival with weapons, at a time when he is continuously losing weapons with each of his attacks, that is, it means - to drag out hostilities, contrary to the call made by the UN Security Council during consultations, contrary to the call made by the OSCE, and most importantly, the presidents of the co-chairing countries of the Minsk Group unambiguously declared the need to immediately stop hostilities, "he summed up.
