ArmInfo.The RA Minister of Education, Science and Culture received the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania Inga Stanite-Tolochkiene.
During the meeting, the ambassador noted that they closely follow the events taking place in Armenia over the past two and a half years. According to her, the ongoing reforms are completing the processes that began in the days of the revolution. At the same time, they noted the readiness to assist the republic in the implementation of multi-vector reforms.
For his part, the minister presented the completed and current work. He noted that the laws on preschool education, general education have already changed; the state standard of general education is being revised, a draft law regulating the spheres of science and higher educational institutions is being discussed, and sectoral strategies are under development. Harutyunyan also presented steps to introduce high technologies in general educational institutions, noting that engineering laboratories are already operating in about half of Armenian schools.
Stanite-Tolochkiene pointed out the interest of the Lithuanian side in the center of creative technologies TUMO, which is considered an Armenian brand in the field of IT. She also touched upon the successful scholarship program named after the Lithuanian architect Jurgis Baltrushaitis, and the possibility of holding bilateral projects in the field of culture and sports competitions next year, while emphasizing the importance of the active activity of the Armenian community in Lithuania.
During the meeting, the interlocutors also discussed issues related to the strengthening of the Armenian- Lithuanian cooperation and the implementation of new programs.
