ArmInfo. The National Security Service of Armenia opened a criminal case on the misappropriation of property by ex-mayor of Yerevan Gagik Beglaryan. This was reported by the press service of NSS.
According to the source, the NSS established that a number of officials of the Yerevan Kentron community, in a preliminary conspiracy with the mayor of the capital, who at that time was Gagik Beglaryan, in 2009 abused their official powers and illegally transferred the community's property to various people, who acquired ownership of it. In 2011, by preliminary agreement, these persons sold the property to the relatives of the mayor himself and his entourage at negligible prices. As a result, Yerevan suffered damage in the amount of 235,000,000 AMD.
On August 14, 2020, the NSS of Armenia opened a criminal case on this fact. The National Security Service also reports that facts were discovered that the ex-mayor of Yerevan appropriated 27 units of real estate, among which there were also buildings intended for pre-school and out-of-school education.
