ArmInfo. Third president of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, in a short video entitled "Let's speak honestly: Serzh Sargsyan about the April war" part three touched upon the accusations of the loss of 800 hectares.
To clarify whether this was really a victory, taking into account the territorial losses, Sargsyan stressed that it was without a doubt a victory.
"It was a victory over a predominant enemy who suddenly attacked and used almost all types of weapons in his arsenal. We defended all our cities and villages, successfully repelling their large-scale aggression. Their goal was not to seize several hundred hectares of land. But, let's talk about 800 hectares. It turns out that with more accurate measurements, these losses were not 800, but 400 hectares. After the war, what I said meant that they were able to take only 800 hectares out of 800,000 hectares of the security zones, that is 0.1%, "Sargsyan said.
To clarify why the RA Armed Forces were not ordered to return these security zones, the third RA President said that during the war he did not insist that the Armenian Armed Forces take the same number of territories back, since the priority was the lives of Armenian servicemen. "And in my decision I was unshakable," Sargsyan summed up.
