ArmInfo. The court postponed consideration of the petition to cancel the arrest of the property of the former RA President Robert Kocharyan and the former RA Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan. The corresponding decision was made on August 4 during the court session in the case of Kocharyan and others.
The court substantiated its decision by the fact that the lawyers refused to provide documents on the value of the property under arrest. According to judge Anna Danibekyan, the consideration of the petition will take place at the stage of the trial.
To recall, the defense side petitioned to lift the arrest of the property of Robert Kocharyan and Armen Gevorgyan at the previous session. According to the lawyers, the investigating authority took the security of a civil claim and court costs as the basis for the seizure of property, while no civil claim was filed. The judge demanded that the lawyers provide full information about the banned property and bank accounts, but today Kocharyan's lawyer Hayk Alumyan said that at this stage they would not provide documents on the value of the property. A similar position was voiced by Gevorgyan's lawyer Erik Aleksanyan.
It should be noted that Robert Kocharyan was charged with overthrowing the constitutional order as part of the March 1, 2008 events. Armen Gevorgyan is accused of aiding the overthrow of the constitutional order, accepting bribes on an especially large scale and money laundering.
