ArmInfo. The Armenian Embassy in Russia issued a statement in connection with the appearance on sale in some Russian ticket offices of air tickets for regular flights to Armenia from August 1.
Thus, according to the message of the Armenian diplomatic mission, despite the fact that tickets appeared on sale at some ticket offices and on the websites of a number of travel agencies, the process of resuming regular flights between Armenia and Russia has not been fully completed, and the terms of resuming flights are still at the stage of negotiations.
"Based on the above, we advise citizens, when purchasing tickets to travel to Armenia, to take information from official sources on the resumption of flights as a basis, in order to avoid problems in the future. After specifying the timing of the resumption of regular flights, this will be reported," the Armenian Embassy noted. At the same time, they recalled that charter flights to Armenia continue to be operated, and the necessary information is regularly provided on their dates on the pages of the embassy in social networks.
Also, the Armenian embassy reminded that during the entire period of the state of emergency in the Republic of Armenia, there is a ban on entry into the republic of non-citizens of the country and those who have no legal grounds for staying in the Republic of Armenia. "It should be noted that the citizens of the Republic of Armenia still cannot use the land route to return to Armenia from Russia. The Upper Lars checkpoint is open exclusively for cargo transportation," the embassy concluded.
Earlier, the Russian authorities announced the resumption of international flights from August 1. However, the list of countries with which the communication will be resumed has not yet been published. The Russian side reported that, as a matter of priority, air traffic with countries where the situation with the novel coronavirus pandemic is favorable will be resumed.
