ArmInfo. Under the coronavirus pandemic conditions, Belarus not only maintained flights flights to Armenia, but also increased their frequency. Ambassador of Belarus to Armenia Igor Nazaruk stated this in an interview with ArmInfo correspondent.
According to him, the Belarusian Belavia airline has increased the frequency of flights on the route Minsk- Yerevan-Minsk from 2 to 5 per week. The Ambassador added that in this way, many citizens of Armenia were able to return home from those countries from which flights were canceled by transit through Minsk.
"Flights are carried out on Boeing 737-800. Aircraft fly almost to the eyeballs, there are no empty seats - we can say that this is some kind of a saving wand for citizens wishing to return to their homeland. I am proud that Belarus substituted a shoulder of support for its Armenian brothers in these difficult times, "the Belarusian diplomat noted.
In this context, Nazaruk called the opening of the Armenian-Belarusian friendship forest on the shore of Lake Sevan on March 13 this year as symbolic. 10 thousand seedlings of pine and blue spruce were planted in the forest, donated to Armenia by Belarus.
In conclusion, Nazaruk informed that on July 20 he was completing his diplomatic mission in Armenia and was leaving for Minsk with his wife.
We also note that Belarus today celebrates Independence Day.
