ArmInfo. It is regrettable that manipulation as a tool continues to be applied in connection with issues which are exclusively in the legal plane, with the aim of generating certain public opinions against the prosecutor's office. Gor Abrahamyan, Advisor to the Prosecutor General of Armenia, stated this on his Facebook page, speaking about the case against the leader of the "Prosperous Armenia" party Gagik Tsarukyan.
<Tsarukyan's lawyer said at a briefing that allegedly the motions submitted to the National Assembly by RA Prosecutor General allegedly contain evidence that was received after registration of these motions at the parliament. The lawyer simply misinforms and misleads the public, since the above statement is not true. On June 14 at 7:30pm R. Muradyan was detained in this criminal case, and a protocol was drawn up about this. Immediately after that, on the same day, from 8:00pm to 10:00pm, in accordance with the procedure established by law, the latter was questioned in the procedural status of the suspect and the information he provided was included in the petitions of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia submitted by the Prosecutor General. Muradyan was questioned for the second time in the status of a suspect, and confirmed earlier these testimonies, reporting additional data and clarifying the role of the persons involved in the case. In the second statement, the circumstances stated by Muradyan were not included in the petitions submitted by the RA Prosecutor General, however, in the manner prescribed by law, they were submitted to the court when considering the petition for arrest as a preventive measure against Tsarukyan>, Abrahamyan said, adding that the defense side of the politician is spreading misinformation.
"The spread of such misinformation is an attempt to involve the participants in the trial in the manipulative processes of a primitive level, and are also aimed at creating excessive and inappropriate excitement around the criminal case, which is unacceptable behavior," he emphasized.
It should be reminded that today the court continues to review the NSS motion for the application of a measure of restraint in the form of arrest against the PAP leader Gagik Tsarukyan. Charges were brought against him on the grounds of part 2 of Article 154.2 (bribing voters) of the RA Criminal Code. It is about the elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan in 2017.
