ArmInfo. The administrative court rejected the lawsuit of second President of the Republic of Armenia Robert Kocharyan against the Criminal Executive Service of the Ministry of Justice. This is reported by the DataLex judicial information system.
In the lawsuit, the former head of state demanded not to limit his visits and telephone conversations. Meanwhile, according to the Administrative Court, the control over the legality of decisions to ban visits and telephone calls is subject to implementation not in an administrative, but in a criminal procedure.
Robert Kocharyan is being accused in the March 1, 2008 case. The charges were brought under Article 300.1 of the RA Criminal Code (Overthrow of the Constitutional System). Earlier, the Administrative Court upheld the motion of the defense, according to which, until the end of the coronavirus pandemic, the former president will remain in the Izmirlyan medical center, where he undergoes treatment after surgery. Meanwhile, the Criminal Executive Department of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia appealed against this decision.
