ArmInfo. In Armenia, a case of infection of an entire village with a coronavirus during a funeral was revealed. The Director General of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention Artavazd Vanyan announced this at a May 29 briefing.
Without providing other details of the incident, Vanyan only informed that there was only one person carrying the virus who did not have any symptoms. In this regard, he urged citizens to strictly observe the safety rules for COVID-19, especially in the case of public events (celebrations, funerals, and so on). As an example, Vanyan cited a story that took place in the Syunik region when, due to one asymptomatic patient, all participants in a birthday party fell ill with a coronavirus.
For his part, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also pointed out the case when during the funeral of an elderly citizen who died of coronavirus, his two daughters, due to non-compliance with anti- epidemiological measures, also became infected with COVID-19 and subsequently died.
