ArmInfo. The Union of Credit Organizations of the Republic of Armenia (UCORA) considers the provocative work style unacceptable. This is stated in the official statement of the Union, published after the protest rally of citizens held the day before with the slogan "No to credit organizations" opposite the building of the Central Bank of Armenia.
"The Union of Credit Organizations of Armenia condemns the calls for violence by citizens and urges to refrain from provocative actions," the source said.
Recently, according to the report, dissatisfaction of citizens with the activities of credit organizations has become threatening and accompanied by attempts to hinder the normal activities of the latter. <Credit organizations occupy a special place in the financial system of the Republic of Armenia and provide the population with fast microfinance products. In connection with the state of emergency, credit organizations applied an individual approach to numerous citizens, came to agreements on repaying loans, and drew up new schedules.
Unconditionally recognizing the right of citizens to express their will, and understanding the difficulties associated with fulfilling loan obligations, we urge not to succumb to provocations, instead try to find the facets of cooperation with credit organizations that are ready to meet and treat their borrowers with understanding under the current conditions>, - UCORA said in a statement.
Recall that today, in front of the building of the Central Bank of Armenia, a protest rally was held under the slogan "No to credit organizations". The protesters demanded a meeting with representatives of the Central Bank. They complained about high interest rates on loans provided by credit organizations, expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that no one from the Central Bank wanted to speak with them, and insisted on the revocation of licenses from credit companies. Previously, protesters called for the Central Bank's doors to be blocked, but on the other hand they complained that they did not want to accept them and hear them from the Central Bank. Several citizens were detained, but other protesters blocked the way to the police car. Despite this, the police nevertheless pushed several activists into cars and drove away. Note that protesters subjected to the drive have already been released.
