ArmInfo. Police forcefully drove off dozens of citizens conducting protest under the slogan "No to credit organizations" in front of the building of the Central Bank of Armenia.
Several citizens were detained, but other protesters blocked the way to the police car. Despite this, the police nevertheless pushed several activists into cars and drove away.
To recall, the protesters today demanded a meeting with representatives of the Central Bank. They complained about high interest rates on loans provided by credit organizations, expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that no one from the Central Bank wants to speak with them. They insisted on the withdrawal of licenses from credit companies.
Earlier, protesters called for the Central Bank's doors to be blocked, complaining that no one in the Central Bank wants to receive them and listen to them. One of the policemen said that the Central Bank was ready to receive two citizens, but without journalists. This angered the young man Manuel Manukyan, who organized the protest.
In turn, the Central Bank of Armenia issued a statement in which it strongly condemned the actions of citizen Manukyan and his supporters, and warned of the possible legal consequences of this provocation.
The CBA noted that yesterday they accepted Manukyan's complaint and will answer it within the time limits established by law. "Under the guise of fighting against the credit policy pursued by financial organizations, these people make statements that are not true, thereby misleading citizens, creating an emotional background, prompting calls for violence," the CBA statement said.
To note, one of the protesters called on colleagues to gather in front of the government building at 10 o'clock tomorrow.
