ArmInfo. On May 4, a meeting was held led by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, during which the issues of capital expenditures of programs in the fields of education, science, culture and sports were discussed.
According to the press service of the government, RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Arayik Harutyunyan noted that 4.4 billion drams were allocated for the capital expenditures of the ministry in 2020. These funds will be used to repair educational facilities, carry out restoration work on cultural monuments, develop the material and technical base of public libraries, overhaul buildings in theaters, and so on. In addition, design estimates for construction work worth about 4.7 billion drams are ready.
In this context, Armen Gularyan, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Urban Development, reported on the progress of the development of projects for about 74 educational units, noting that they will be fully completed by the end of July 2020.
The Prime Minister noted that in the current crisis situation capital expenditures should be made in a special quality, pace and volume, which will also be facilitated by the parallel implementation of design work on capital expenditures, as well as tenders for already completed projects.
Then, the Deputy Minister Narine Khachaturian presented a number of proposals for the restoration, protection and development of cultural monuments.
According to Nikol Pashinyan, the issue should be considered in the context of integrated solutions and entrusted with interested departments to discuss proposals, develop specific concepts and projects.
