ArmInfo. Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia Arayik Harutyunyan informed that the current academic year in the educational institutions of the country will be completed in the form of distance learning. Harutyunyan informed about this during the live broadcast.
He noted that exams in grades of 4, 9, 10 and 11 will not be held and their grades will be summarized on results ofthe second semester . "The grades both before and after the state of emergency will be taken into account, and thus the annual grades will be set", the minister emphasized.
As for the exams in the 12th grades, Harutyunyan stated that they will not be held either. <Given the fact that in December last year, these students have already passed exams in these subjects, they will be given the opportunity to choose either to save the result of December 2019, or their annual grades will be set on these subjects. Certificates for graduates will be issued until May 25,> the minister said.
He noted that there will be no final thesis and final works as well as exams in universities and colleges. If students do not have grades for the second semester, their annual grade will be set taking into account their grade for the first semester. Derivation of grades will be on the same principle as in schools. Diplomas will be issued before June 5>, the minister emphasized. According to the Minister of Education, there is a very important issue related to conscription in connection with graduates. <Given that the summer conscription starts, it is very important that among the recruits there are no cases of coronavirus and the infection does not enter the army. It is on the basis of these considerations that we have made a number of decisions. We strove to create the most convenient and acceptable conditions for our graduates>, Harutyunyan emphasized.
He stated that exams for medals would not be held either. "All applicants will be given the opportunity to participate in these exams next year," the minister concluded.
