ArmInfo. In Armenia, the growth rate of cases of coronavirus remains virtually unchanged. RA Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan stated this on April 23 at a government meeting.
According to the latest data, 50 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected in Armenia, another 26 patients recovered. In total, 1523 cases of coronavirus were confirmed in the republic, 659 people recovered, 24 died (no new deaths were registered for the second day in a row). Currently, 840 patients are receiving actual treatment.
According to Torosyan, 10 patients with COVID-19 are in critical condition, and about 230 patients have been diagnosed with pneumonia. Five are connected to the ventilator, one of them being 27 years old, and he suffers from a congenital severe chronic disease. "There is hope that it will be possible to save his life," the minister emphasized.
According to him, in the country, the growth rate of cases of coronavirus remains almost unchanged, and the current load on the hospital bed allows hospitalization of all patients with COVID-19. In addition, patients with mild illness are isolated in hotels, and do not receive treatment at home, as is done in several countries around the world. Meanwhile, Torosyan urged not to lose vigilance, especially taking into account the introduced concessions on certain types of economic activity. Speaking about the international situation, the minister cited Iran as an example, where, according to him, against the background of steps to ease restrictions, there is a daily decrease in the number of new infections and deaths compared to previous days. Torosyan also drew attention to recent statements made at the international level regarding the expectation of the second wave of coronavirus, especially given the gradual relaxation of restrictions being carried out around the world.
