ArmInfo. The trial in the case of the third President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan was again postponed.
Sargsyan's defense submitted a motion to the court of general jurisdiction of the first instance of Yerevan with a request, in connection with the epidemiological situation in the country, to postpone the hearing scheduled for April 23. The application was granted; the day and time of the next hearing will be announced additionally.
The third president of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, is accused of organizing embezzlement on an especially large scale - about 500 million drams. The matter concerns the state program approved in 2013 by the Government on the more affordable acquisition of diesel fuel for the implementation of spring agricultural work. According to the investigation, exceeding official powers, Sargsyan facilitated the purchase of diesel fuel from Flash Ltd at higher prices. Serzh Sargsyan was charged with clause 1 of part 3 of article 38-179 of the RA Criminal Code, former Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan - under clause 1 of part 3 of article 179 of the RA Criminal Code, head of Flash Ltd Barsegh Beglaryan - under clause 1 of part 3 of article 38-179 of the Criminal Code RA, former Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia Samvel Galstyan and Head of the Plant Production Department of the same Ministry Gevorg Harutyunyan - under clause 1 of part 3 of Article 38-179 of the RA Criminal Code.
