ArmInfo.Yerevan Municipality continues to implement measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. As the Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Sergey Harutyunyan stated at a press conference on April 10, disinfection of entrances and elevators of apartment buildings is carried out every morning.
As for the disinfection of transport stops previously used in cooperation with the Ministry of Emergencies, it is temporarily suspended due to a ban on the operation of public transport. Harutyunyan recalled that the vehicles of "Yerevan Bus" CJSC 3-4 times a day transport medical workers on specially designed routes for free. These buses are also disinfected.
Harutyunyan also informed that disinfection is effective no matter what technical means are used for it.
Monitoring of facilities operating in the service sector continues, in terms of their implementation of the recommendations of the Commandant's Office. Harutyunyan admitted that in some supermarkets and banks crowds take place despite numerous recommendations to maintain social distance. In this regard, he once again voiced a call to maintain a distance of 1-2 meters, noting that everyone is able to follow this rule. < It is important that we all contribute to overcome the virus. The doctors working on overloads, who are deprived of the opportunity to see their loved ones for days, are calling for this, "said the deputy mayor.
However, the deputy mayor noted with concern that some drivers allow themselves risky and dangerous maneuvers on the streets unloaded from the traffic stream. He himself has repeatedly witnessed such situations. In this regard, Harutyunyan urged drivers to follow the letter of the law, and exercise caution when driving.
