ArmInfo.I learned about the criminal case against me from the media. This was stated by former member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Artur Gevorgyan on his Facebook page.
To recall, earlier the Prosecutor General's Office reported that Gevorgyan was brought on as a defendant and put on the wanted list in connection with the illegal enrichment and concealment of property subject to declaration. As a preventive measure in relation to him, arrest was chosen.
Meanwhile, Gevorgyan insists that he found out about this from media publications, and he was not notified of the criminal case against him. According to him, the corresponding notifications were not sent to him at the place of his registration in Armenia, and law enforcement authorities made no attempts to contact his relatives or establish a connection with him through social networks. Gevorgyan also said that he has been absent from Armenia for a long time. "However, I affirm that my whereabouts are known," he said.
To note, according to the investigation, Gevorgyan did not declare three properties owned by him in the United States. In particular, real estate in Los Angeles worth $ 490 thousand purchased on April 6, 2011, real estate in Glendale worth $ 520 thousand purchased on August 10, 2015, and real estate in Los Angeles purchased on June 2, 2016. In addition, he hid the fact that he owns a 100% stake in one company. A criminal case has been opened in part 2 of article 314.3 and part 1 of article 310 of the RA Criminal Code.
