ArmInfo. The Prosecutor General's Office intends to return illegally alienated territories to the state. This was reported by the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office. According to the source, starting in 2019, the Prosecutor General's Office, in particular, checked the process of selling and leasing state property. As a result, numerous violations were revealed, as well as corruption.
As it turned out, employees of the State Administration for State Property Management periodically conducted state property assessments for one of the companies without legal authority. After the implementation of this scheme, this property was sold. Moreover, it was found that this property was sold at a price well below market value.
According to the law, when selling property, the price of which exceeds 50 million drams, the permission of the government is necessary. However, in cases where the cost is underestimated, the signature of the head of the Office is sufficient for the sale.
On the fact of inspections carried out from 2019 to 2020, 27 criminal cases were opened, most of which are related to abuse of authority. The process of returning property to the state has already begun, the investigation in these cases continues.
In one of these cases, the Prosecutor General's Office appealed to the court of Kotayk region in order to declare the sale of 47.5 hectares of specially protected territory in the resort town of Tsaghkadzor invalid during various auctions. The prosecutor's office also requested the return to the state of 10,000 square meters of Victory Park, which currently belongs to the nearby Golden Palace Hotel. Another case is related to the petition of the prosecutor's office to return real estate with an area of 50.5 hectares in the Hrazdan community.
The Prosecutor General's Office also appealed to the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures in connection with the case of General Manvel Grigoryan. In particular, the Prosecutor General's Office seeks the cancellation of 40 leases or transfers of property and their return to the state. According to the information, the prosecutor's office also proposed the return to the state of the non- alienable Jradzor Canal, the territory necessary for its maintenance of 0.2 hectares, the Amasiya Canal, 1.4 hectares of land and a tunnel of 7060 square meters, as well as its infrastructure.
