ArmInfo. Pakistan's first Ambassador to Armenia, Shafqat Ali Khan, presented his credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan.
According to the press service of the Armenian President, Khachaturyan wished him success, emphasizing the significance of his being Pakistan's first ambassador to Armenia.
The Ambassador, in turn, noted that he would make efforts to develop relations between the two countries. During the meeting, the parties also discussed opportunities for developing cooperation and advancing new areas of mutual interest.
As a reminder, on September 1, 2025, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar signed a joint communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Pakistan. Pakistan had not previously recognized Armenia's independence. This was due to Pakistan's pro-Azerbaijani stance on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Pakistan not only supported Azerbaijan on the Artsakh issue but also participated in Azerbaijan's large-scale aggression against the self-determined republic in the fall of 2020.
