Legislative changes related to the property confiscation mechanism are being prepared in Armenia.

ArmInfo. Legislative changes related to the property confiscation mechanism are being prepared in Armenia. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this during a briefing with journalists.

According to the current law, the property confiscation system currently includes a reconciliation mechanism, which provides for the return of 75% to the state and the retention of 25%. In this regard, the Prime Minister stated that those who illegally acquired property had the opportunity to take advantage of this opportunity within eight years and retain 25%, but did not do so. Consequently, he announced that he had ordered the abolition of this reconciliation mechanism and the confiscation of 100% of illegally acquired property. "We will soon adopt legislative changes and this mechanism will be abolished. We will confiscate everything—from illegally acquired shoes," the head of government noted.
